Philosophy

Club cricket comes in a variety of forms: From the show up to drink variety (yes that was us in 1993) to the three practices a week, ruthless selection type.

Our overarching philosophy is neither. We play cricket to have fun... which is somewhere between the two philosophies.

Ultimately we want to get our membership as much cricket as they want. This normally means having a few league games, more friendlies, and around one "tour" per month to interesting places to play against good people.

To get to the right number of games, we have a 35 game season starting n May and ending when the clocks change in October. We play mostly on Saturdays - but also occasionally on Sundays.

In 2007 we will play in the five team World Series League, (8 or 9 games), five games at the  Philadelphia Cricket Festival, and two other trips to locations like Newport, RI or Albany NY. The rest are friendlies against other local teams.

Membership

Our base membership is $100 for a full membership and $50 for a student membership; plus $10 per game played. Now, we won't ask for any cash up front, but after a couple of games...

Why so much dosh? Our fees cover ground rental and upkeep, insurance, balls, drinks at the game and other equipment. Once the fee is paid it is up to you to make the most of your investment and sign up to play as often as you want!

We manage all team arrangements online, via an opt in "evite" system based in google.

if you want a team shirt/cap, we normally manufacture to order each spring.

Tours

We have begun an annual January tour to Sarasota in FL in 2006, and are on our way to Grenada in 2007... and more to come!

Here's an article about our Toronto tour in 2004.
